This is a message from Sea Isle City’s Office of Emergency Management.

Coastal Flood Watch and Storm Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Watch and Storm Watch for Sea Isle City and the surrounding region. Significant impacts from a strong coastal storm appear increasingly likely for our area on Sunday and Monday, October 12 & 13.  The severity of impacts to Sea Isle City will depend on the exact track of the storm, which remains uncertain.  Significant coastal flooding, strong damaging winds, significant waves, and beach erosion are most likely to affect our area.

Moderate to major coastal flooding is possible during high tides on Sunday and Monday.  High tides on Sunday are at approximately 12:30 AM and 1:00 PM, and on Monday at approximately 2:00 AM and 2:30 PM.

Storm force winds with gusts greater than 55-mph and seas up to 20- feet are possible.  Heavy rain of two inches or more will also be a factor. This will result in flooding of roads and some structures near the ocean, back bays, and tidal waterways.

Do not attempt to drive through standing water on the streets.

Please move vehicles to a higher location – to offshore locations if possible.

Secure any loose belongings and property so they do not become hazards in the roadways.

In case of any Emergency, please dial 9-1-1.

Thank you – and stay safe!
